30 - Luau by the Lake
complete with island-themed food, leis, and live beach music
by Conconut Dave, 4:30 p.m. Lawn by the Lake
October
1 - The Pioneer Class, -Class of 1956-
will be the special guests for a 50th anniversary
luncheon and reunion.
The first-ever
reception for Alumni Greeks will be held at 8 p.m.
at Mosby's restaurant in Wise. This gathering is open
to any alumnus who participated in a Greek organization
at the College, including, of course, the "Little Sisters"
of any fraternity.
October
2 - The 2003-04
and 2004-05 Annual Fund Class Councils, former SGA presidents,
and former Alumni Association Board presidents will be special
guests for a brunch. 9 a.m.
The Department
of Visual and Performing Arts will host a brunch for VPAR
graduates.
The Alumni
Picnic Feast begins at 11 a.m. at the Lawn
by the Lake. bring your gamily to meet your classmates
and favorite professors.

Photos of Alumni by Decades begining at
11 a.m. with the classes of the 1950s;
at 11:15 the classes of the 1960s;
at 11:30 the classes of the 1970s;
at 11:45 the classes of the 1980s;
noon the classes of the 1990s;
and at 12:15 the classes of 2000s.

After the big
game, head back to the lake for the
Appalachian Music Festival.
A joint event
sponsored by the UVa-Wise 50th Anniversary Coordinating
Council, with support from the Birthplace of Country Music
Alliance, the Appalachian Music Festival will celebrate
the region's musical heritage. The current
list of performers includes Papa Joe Smiddy, the
Mount Rogers Albert Hash Memorial School Band, Ron Short,
Dale Jett (the grandson of A.P. and Sara Carter), the ETSU
Bluegrass Band, Apartment #9, Ras Alan and the Lion, and
Larry Cordle and Lonesome Standard Time.
The festival concludes
a t 8 p.m. with a fireworks
display at 9 p.m. sponsored by the Town
of Wise and the City of Norton.
Dance what's left
of the night away at the SGA
Homecoming Dance. The fun begins at
10 p.m. at the Holiday Inn in Norton.

2-3 - Choir Reunion and Concert
UVa-Wise will
host a Choir Reunion Concert on October
3 as part of its 50th anniversary celebration
during Alumni-Homecoming Weekend. All former Choir
members and directors are invited to participate. A reception
will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday,
October 2, at the Wise Baptist Church fellowship
hall. Rehearsals will follow at 5 p.m. Saturday and again
at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 3. The
Choir Reunion Concert, which is free and open to the public,
begins at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 3 at Wise Baptist Church.
The Choir Reunion Concert is under the
direction of D. Michael Donathan, Emeritus Professor of

23 - Football under the lights. Cavaliers
take on Pikeville College, kick-off at 6 p.m. The UVa-Wise
Alumni Association will host Clinch Valley College
Day. Events begin at 3 p.m.
November
6 - The Alumni Association and Highland
Cavalier Club will honor all former athletes during Super
Raffle 2004.

11 - 12 - Sheri Reynolds lectures, Author
of The Rapture of Canaan
