UVa-Wise Division of Music to host
pianist Phillip Hayner 
The University of Virginia’s College at Wise Division of Music will host pianist Phillip Hayner in concert, Friday, Nov. 10, at 7 p.m. in the Chapel of All Faiths.
The program will include works by J. S. Bach, Haydn, Chopin, Debussy and Ginastera. A native of Clarklake, Michigan., Hayner began piano study there with Uarda Foster Saeger.
He continued piano study with Laurence Morton at Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina; Erno Daniel and Joseph Banowetz at the National Music Camp in Interlochen, Michigan; and Raymond Dudley and Olga Conus at the College-Conservatory of Music of the University of Cincinnati, where he earned the DMA in piano performance.
Hayner is currently Professor of Music at Piedmont College in Demorest, Georgia, where he teaches piano, music theory, music history and composition.
