2011 UVa-Wise Technology Symposium to feature Steve Brandon
The 2011 UVa-Wise Technology Symposium will be held on Oct. 25 starting at 8:30 a.m. in the C. Bascom Slemp Student Center 5th floor conference area.
The symposium will focus on becoming an entrepreneur inside one’s own business or organization.
Steve Brandon, the key speaker, is one of five founders of SPEC Group, a staffing company focused on the energy and IT sectors. He retired in 2002 and is a consultant who specializes in the area of organizational management. SPEC Group was purchased by TMP Worldwide, Inc. in 2000. TMP Worldwide is the parent company of the online job search engine Monster.com.
Since retiring in 2002, Steve has continued his career as a strategic business consultant for a number of companies around the world.
The symposium will feature a number of experts on technology innovation, re-engineering and standards compliance. A schedule of sessions as well as a registration form is now available online at www.uvawise.edu/oit/TechSymposium.
