Eller to help UVa-Wise introduce Center for Appalachian Studies on April 8

Ron Eller, a leading authority on Appalachian history, will help The University of Virginia’s College at Wise welcome its new Center for Appalachian Studies to the campus and the region on Tuesday, April 8.

Eller, the former director of the University of Kentucky’s Appalachian Center, will speak at 7 p.m. in the Dogwood Room at the Slemp Student Center. The title of his lecture is “The Value of Place in a Modern World.”

Ron EllerThe Center for Appalachian Studies to the campus and region, which was created last fall, will work to strengthen the College’s academic offerings that relate to the history and culture of the Appalachian region.
