Laura Danielle Wampler Scholarship established at UVa-Wise

A scholarship has been established at The University of Virginia's College at Wise in memory of Laura Danielle Wampler, a graduate of Wise County Christian School who passed away in 2006 at the age of 17.

Her parents, Randy and Yvonne Wampler, established the Laura Danielle Wampler Scholarship Fund.  Yvonne, who is a member of the College’s Class of 1986 said, “We are pleased to be able to honor our daughter's life by helping other deserving students through this scholarship fund.”  Laura was active with the Student Council and participated on the volleyball and basketball teams. She had planned to study psychology in college.

Income from the fund will be used to provide scholarships for worthy and deserving students based on financial need and academic promise. Preference will be given to students who pursue a degree in psychology or a career in medical research. First priority will be given to graduates of Wise County Christian School.
