Noe to discuss the impact of weather on the Civil War
Kenneth Noe, a history professor
at Auburn University and a leading authority on Appalachia’s Civil War, will
lecture at UVa-Wise on Friday, March 1.
Noe, one of the most
accomplished scholars of the region’s Civil War experience, will speak in the Slemp
Student Center’s Dogwood Room at 1 p.m. His
lecture, “The Decisive Role of Weather in the Civil War,” will introduce the audience
to the work that has gone into his many articles and forthcoming book.
The program is part of the
Appalachian Warfare Lecture Series that has been made possible through the
generosity of the Slemp Foundation.
