Taste of Home Cooking School set for Prior Center on Nov. 19


Culinary specialist Cheryl Cohen will be at the David J. Prior Convocation Center on the campus of The University of Virginia’s College at Wise on Tuesday, Nov. 19 at the Taste of Home Cooking School Show.

Cohen will share her home cooking tips and tricks while demonstrating step-by-step recipes for the season’s best dishes. This season’s event is brought to Wise by UVa-Wise, Payless and Colorama.

The Taste of Home Cooking School begins at 7 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m. with participants having the opportunity to visit Vendor’s Row to view various products and service that are available throughout the region.

The perfect recipe for creating new memories with loved ones includes good friends, good conversation and, of course, great food. As home cooks across the country head back to the kitchen to cook up fall’s comforting favorites, the Taste of Home Cooking School is preparing to share seasonal recipes that are certain to delight. 

The Taste of Home Cooking School is America’s leading cooking school program, inspiring more than 300,000 passionate home chefs at approximately 300 events nationwide. Attendees experience exciting recipe demonstrations using ingredients that are easily found at the local grocery store and best of all, the dishes are submitted by home cooks from across the country.


Attendees will receive a gift bag including the Taste of Home Cooking School magazine. This 68-page special issue includes recipes featured during the program, along with many more, as well as coupons from participating national food companies. Attendees can also enter for a chance to win one of many door prizes, including the recipes created onstage that night.
