UVa-Wise to host RTE 23 Music Festival

The University of Virginia’s College at Wise will host the RTE 23 Music Festival, Saturday, Aug. 30.

Presented by the Birthplace of Country Music, the festival features four Appalachian music performances.

Activities for children will be available 3 p.m. with performances beginning at 4:15 p.m.

Performance schedule is as follows:

  • 4:15 p.m. - 5 p.m. - Derek Hoke
  • 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. - Jarekus Singleton
  • 7:00 p.m. - 8:15 p.m. - Sol Driven Train
  • 8:45 p.m. - 10:15 p.m. - The David Mayfield Parade

The event will be located in the grassy area next to Carl Smith Stadium. Parking will be available at the UVa-Wise David J. Prior Convocation Center and surrounding campus locations.

Admission to the festival is free.
