UVa-Wise offers two European travel opportunities in 2012
The University of Virginia’s College at Wise is offering two travel opportunities to visit some of Europe’s most famous destinations while earning college credit this spring.
The trips include visits to Scotland in mid-March and Paris/London in late May.
The Scotland trip includes visits to Rosslyn Chapel, Edinburgh Castle, Falkland Palace and Glencoe during spring break, March 9-17, 2012. A program fee of $2,166 per person includes transportation, accommodations, breakfast and three evening meals. Applications are being accepted through January 15 and must be accompanied by a $500 deposit.
For those interested in visiting Paris and London, the May 20-29 trip include Buckingham Palace, Stonehenge, Arch de Triumph, Louvre Museum, Notre Dame Cathedral and the Palace of Versailles. The program cost for the Paris/London tour is $2,193 and includes airfare, ground transportation, rail fare, all accommodations, some meals, insurance and the services of an experienced UVa-Wise faculty member as tour guide.
Participants will earn one humanities credit hour for the London/Paris trip and a limited number of $500 scholarships are available. A preliminary meeting to answer questions regarding the Paris/London trip and provide additional details will be held Monday, Jan. 30 in Darden Hall, 214 at 1 p.m.
