UVa-Wise plans trip to Antietam and Harper’s Ferry
The University of Virginia’s College at Wise is organizing a tour of the Battle of Antietam and the town of Harper’s Ferry.
Thanks to the generosity of the C. Bascom Slemp Foundation’s Appalachian Warfare grant, the four-day trip will cost just $400 per person based on double occupancy hotel rates. The cost includes transportation, tour and materials. A small group trip will depart UVa-Wise on Monday, June 17, for the tour of two of the most important sites in Civil War history. In addition, stops are planned for both the first and last days of the trip as various historic sites.
With only 30 spaces available, the trip will fill quickly. Full payment must be made by April 15 in order to confirm a spot on the trip. Checks may be written to the UVa-Wise Foundation (Antietam Trip), 1 College Avenue, Wise, VA 24293. To reserve a space, email Brian McKnight at firstname.lastname@example.org.
