UVa-Wise senior scholar Blackburn to appear on ‘With Good Reason’ Sept. 14 and 15
Glenn Blackburn, a professor of history emeritus and senior scholar with The University of Virginia’s College at Wise, will appear on “With Good Reason,” a radio production of the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities, on Sept. 14 and 15.
Blackburn will discuss Southern philosopher Maynard Adams, a major intellectual figure of the second half of the 20th century. Adams is credited with developing a comprehensive philosophy that emphasized man’s search for meaning and value in life. Blackburn is the author of a new book, “Maynard Adams, Southern Philosopher of Civilization.”
"With Good Reason” is aired locally on WVTF at 7:30 p.m. each Wednesday and on WETS each Thursday at 8 p.m. The episode may be downloaded at the “With Good Reason” web site at www.withgoodreasonradio.org.
