Information session on UVa-Wise accounting degree cohort in Abingdon

The University of Virginia’s College at Wise will host an information session for those interested in learning more about an accounting degree cohort at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center in Abingdon on Monday, May 10, at 5 p.m.

A bachelor’s degree in accounting prepares students for careers in accounting, finance or entrepreneurship, as well as preparation for an MBA or a master’s degree in accounting. The curriculum for the cohort program is designed for students who have completed an articulated associate of arts and sciences degree at a community college in the transfer areas of education, general studies, business administration, liberal arts or science.

The Bachelor of Science in accounting cohort program at the College’s Abingdon campus is designed for working adults with evening and online classes that can be completed in 18 months, including summer sessions. Financial aid is available for qualifying students. Fall semester classes will begin on August 18.
UVa-Wise offers bachelor’s degrees at the Abingdon campus in business administration, accounting, management information systems and psychology. The Abingdon campus also offers recertification classes for teachers, a library media management endorsement and a certificate in accounting.
