Environmental Science

Overview

The environmental science major at UVA Wise is designed to kick start your career in the field or to prepare you for graduate study. The program combines courses in biology, biostatistics, ecology, chemistry, geographic information systems, geology, and physics.

While you are studying botany, zoology, or natural resources in a classroom at UVA Wise, you will also be able to take advantage of the college’s gorgeous surroundings in Southwest Virginia. In fact, our campus boasts a unique wetlands habitat that acts as a living laboratory for water monitoring, species identification, research into local environmental issues, and land reclamation.
