College Admissions Requirements for
Non-Degree Seeking Students

At The University of Virginia’s College at Wise, we welcome anyone seeking to further their education. And we understand that, for some, that process doesn’t involve working towards receiving a degree. That’s why we offer a variety of options and programs for non-degree seeking students to participate in the vibrant educational atmosphere and learning community that UVa-Wise offers.

Non-Degree Application Requirements and Admissions Process

To be eligible for admission to UVa-Wise as a non-degree seeking student, applicants must submit a completed general application for admission, with an indication of your non-degree seeking status. The Director of Enrollment Management in the Admissions Office will act on the non-degree seeking student application upon submission.

Non-Degree Enrollment Registration

Students who wish to take classes for self-improvement and education, but who are not seeking a degree, may enroll for a maximum of seven (7) hours per semester. Non-degree seeking students who already hold a bachelor’s degree or higher may take an unlimited number of hours per semester.
