Children are invited to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday at The University of Virginia's College at Wise on Wednesday, March 2.
The Student Virginia Education Association at UVa-Wise will host the party for children age 12 or younger in honor of the birthday of beloved children's author Theodore Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss.
The Dr. Seuss Birthday Party will be take place from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. in the Fred B. Greear Gymnasium. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

UVa-Wise will participate in the statewide Tornado Preparedness Day drill at 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15.
Campus Police will test the siren during the drill. When you hear the siren, think of how you would act in case of a real emergency. In an actual tornado emergency, you would seek shelter in lower portions of buildings, such as basements. Stay away from windows and remain inside until you receive more information.
The Lecture Committee and the Faculty Research Support Group at The University of Virginia’s College at Wise are sponsoring a faculty research panel discussion on March 30 in the Chapel of All Faiths.
The panel discussion begins at 1 p.m., and UVa-Wise students receive cultural activities credit for attending.

UVa-Wise 360° provides students with an inclusive look at campus life. The event includes an academic and activities fair, campus and residence hall tours, question-and-answer presentations by the admissions counselors and a complimentary lunch. Participants will have an opportunity to talk with faculty, staff and current students to learn more about the wide variety of academic, athletic and social opportunities at UVa-Wise.
The program takes place in the Fred B. Greear Gymnasium from 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Rusty Necessary, vice chancellor for enrollment management, will welcome the families.
