Cavs Amount One Hit in Going Away Lost to West Va. Tech

Wise, VA -- The tough weekend extended continued for The University of Virginia's College at Wise on Sunday. The Highland Cavaliers dropped two games to Appalachian Athletic Conference games to Tennessee Wesleyan Saturday and amount only one base hit in route to a going away defeat to NCAA Division II West Virginia Tech, 11-0.
After the Golden Bears (9-10) scored in the top of the second, Brock Funk singled to lead off the bottom of the frame. Wil Childress followed with a fielder's choice and no UVa-Wise (20-8) runs would score. WV Tech added one tally in the third, two in the fourth and seven in the fifth while pitcher Marty Weisler fanned 10 Cavs batters and walked two in his complete game one-hitter.
UVa-Wise will next travel to Alice Lloyd College on Tuesday for two games starting at 1:00 p.m.
