Wise, VA – Matt Sinnes pitched a four-hit complete game shutout for UVA-Wise in a 5-0 win before Alderson-Broaddus came back for a late inning 9-5 rally in the second game to earn a baseball split Wednesday.

Junior Sinnes (Roanoke, VA) had his best performance as a Highland Cavalier by scattering four hits, walking two and striking out three for the shutout victory. Brad Robbins (Big Stone Gap, VA) was the offensive standout with a four for seven day. The left-hander lined two first game doubles and then hit a solo homer in the second contest.

Jorge Laboy (Woodbridge, VA) added three hits and a solo home run in the late game. Edwin Narvaez (Morovis, PR) and Brock Funk (Fries, VA) hit home runs in the late game. Narvaez’s shot was a two-run one and had a single in the opener. Narvaez singled home Hall, who walked, in the first inning. Alan Stoupa (McLean, VA) lofted a sac fly to right to plate Robbins, who doubled, to make it 2-0 after two frames.
