Cavs Baseball Announces Nine in 2008 Recruiting Class

Wise, Va. – After the most wins in program history and third place run in the NAIA Region XII tournament, the UVa-Wise baseball would like to announce nine members of its 2008 recruiting class. The Highland Cavaliers will welcome David Atchley of Kingsport, Christiansburg’s Daniel Saunders, Scott Cole of Patrick County High, junior transfer Matt Duffy from Emory & Henry, Jeremy Smith out of Warrenton, Va., Craig Beale of South Hampton Academy, D’Andre Bussey of Virginia Beach, Matt Reisinger of Fairfax Station, Va. and Jonathan Painter from Stephens City, Va.

UVa.-Wise had a solid 2007 campaign it will look to build upon with the incoming class. The Cavs set a school record with 32 victories (32-17-1) and made the program’s first run into the NAIA Region XII playoffs, where they finished third, in five years.
