Wise, Va. – In the top of the eighth with two out, Milligan’s Ricky Morgan connected for what would be a game-winning three-run home run for an 8-5 win over UVa-Wise in an Appalachian Athletic Conference matchup.

The second game of the scheduled twinbill was postponed. The seven-inning game will be made up on Monday starting at 5:00 p.m. at UVa-Wise’s Stallard Field.

Jorge Laboy ( Woodbridge, Va.) lined a double and single. Matt Duffy ( Martinsville, Va.), Josh Verts (Winchester, Va.) and Mike Lang (Fredericksburg, Va.) had one hit.

Morgan drove in four of the Buffs (18-23/6-9 AAC) runs with his three-run homer and rbi double. Brian Busby added a double and two singles while Brandon Murphy laced a double and one single. Spencer Street singled two times.

In the top of the first, Busby and Morgan had doubles to help the visitors take a 2-0 lead. Milligan added a third tally in the fourth before Dallas Crounch doubled home two unearned runs to extend the difference to 5-0 in the sixth.

UVa-Wise struck back in the home sixth. Laboy doubled and scored on a Lang single. Verts walked and both runners scored on back-to-back singles from Duffy and Narvaez to make it 5-3.

With one out in the seventh, Laboy singled to set up Robbins, who belted his 10 th home run of the year to tie the game, 5-5.

The Buffs came right back in the eighth. With two out and two on, Morgan connected for a three-run round-tripper to left field off Cavs’ reliever D’Andre Bussey to go back in front 8-5. The Buffs set the top of the Cavs’ order in the ninth for the 8-5 final.
