UVa-Wise Returns to NAIA Region XII as Fourth Seed

Kingsport, Tenn. – UVa-Wise will return to the NAIA Region XII baseball tournament for the second year in a row as the fourth seed as the team ended a four-year dry spell last season. The Highland Cavaliers qualified after posting a strong third place finish in the Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament last week.
The region championship will again be held at Hunter-Wright Stadium in Kingsport, Tennessee, the same location as the AAC tournament. The games will begin with the opening three games on Wednesday, April 7 and continuing with the championship round on Saturday, April 10.
UVa-Wise (29-21), the fourth-seed, will face third seed and rival King College (31-16) in the second contest of the first day at 5:00 p.m. Top seed Tennessee Wesleyan (41-15) will take on sixth rated Brescia College (22-28) in the final game at 8:00 p.m. while second seed Union College (40-14) plays fifth rated Indiana University-Southeast (31-22) will begin the day with a 1:30 p.m. contest.
