Stallard Field Dedication Set for September

WISE, VA - Dedication for the new UVa-Wise baseball field, Stallard Field, has been set for 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 4 at the ballpark, the College's Athletics Department announced Wednesday.

Stallard Field gates will open at 10 a.m. that day to allow former UVa-Wise baseball players, alumni and supporters to take the field for batting and fielding exercises.

In addition, current UVa-Wise baseball players will hold an inter-squad scrimmage at the field at 2 p.m.

Later that day, the UVa-Wise football team will host new Mid-South Conference member Kentucky Wesleyan College at 5 p.m. at Carl Smith Stadium.

Stallard Field, named in honor of local coaching legend, the late Burchell Stallard, hosted its first game in February when the Cavaliers defeated Bluefield College in the first game of a doubleheader.
