BOX SCORE
WISE, Va. – The UVa-Wise bats woke up a bit Wednesday as the Cavaliers scored seven runs and collected 18 hits against Lincoln Memorial (Tenn.) University in non-conference baseball action at Stallard Field. However, five Cavs’ pitchers could not stifle the Railsplitters, and LMU took a 10-7 victory in Wise. UVa-Wise’s Josh Duffy and Will Childress each went 3-for-5 in the loss that dropped the Cavaliers to 3-7 overall. Duffy smacked a solo home run in the third inning after his team had fallen behind 3-0 early. LMU’s Mark Parsons picked up the win. Parsons entered the game in the seventh after the Cavaliers had scored five runs in the sixth to take a 7-5 advantage. David Jones suffered the loss for UVa-Wise.
