Trio Leads Covenant Over UVa-Wise Men

Lookout Mountain, GA - In the first action of 2006, the University of Virginia's College at Wise men's hoops team came up short on the road. A trio of double figure scorers paced Covenant College over UVa-Wise Friday night by a 77-67 tally.

The Scots improved their season mark to 5-10 and 4-3 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference while the Cavs dropped to 5-11 and 1-6 in the league.

Covenant's Ben Britt had a team-high 15 points while his teammates James Cunningham and Nate Beers chipped in 13 and 12 points. Parker Gemmell paced UVa-Wise with 19 points.

UVa-Wise will travel to Bryan College (TN) for a 7:30 p.m. Saturday night affair.
