Rams Pull Away from Highland Cavaliers in Second Half

Bluefield, VA – The Bluefield College Rams held home court in a big way as they pulled away in the second half over the University of Virginia’s College at Wise men’s basketball squad. Bluefield captured the Appalachian Athletic Conference matchup by an 96-65 final over UVa-Wise.
Zydrunas Rackauskas posted his fourth double-double in the last five games by hitting for 17 points and grabbing 10 rebounds for the Cavs (8-15/4-10 AAC). UVa-Wise had three other double figure scorers. Jarred Soles chipped in 12 points while both Parker Gemmell and Seth Gibson added 10 tallies apiece. Gemmell and Joey Blackwell both finished with four assists.
Curtis Dixon led all players with 23 points on nine of 14 shots for Bluefield (15-10/9-4 AAC). Cedric Brown posted 16 points and clutched 10 carroms while Hodges Anthony had nine assists.
The Rams took a 45-35 halftime lead before pulling away with a 51-30 second half for the eventual final of 96-65.
UVa-Wise will return home next Tuesday for a 7:30 p.m. affair against Tennessee Wesleyan.
