UVa-Wise Complete Season Sweep of Cobras

Bristol, VA – Freshman Zydrunas Rackauskas produced another top flight effort to lead The University of Virginia's College at Wise men's basketball team to victory. Rackauskas scored 22 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to help the Highland Cavaliers complete the season sweep of the Cobras by a 68-59 tally.
The Cavs goes to 12-17 on the season as the program continues its improvement. The visitors are now 8-11 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference. Virginia Intermont ends the night at 7-21 on the year and 6-13 in the league.
Rackauskas was one of three Cavs in double figures. The freshman from Lithuania made seven of 12 shots from the field and eight of 12 from the charity stripe for his 22 points. Parker Gemmell dropped 18 points while his backcourt mate Joey Blackwell added 15 points and four assists.
UVa-Wise recorded a solid first half and built a 34-25 lead at the intermission. The lead held up as the two teams played even in the second half, 34-34, for the 68-59 final score.
The Cavs will finish its regular season docket with a 4:00 p.m. affair at King College Saturday afternoon.
