King College Takes Second Half to Defeat UVa-Wise Men’s Hoops in Title Tilt

Bristol, TN– After winning Friday night in overtime, the University of Virginia’s College at Wise men’s basketball team came up short in the second half to fall to host King College in the King Championship tilt Saturday. The Tornados outscored the Highland Cavaliers 39-29 in the second half to take away the tournament title by a 67-57 score.
UVa-Wise was able to hit only nine of its 24 shots (37.5%) in the second half after the two teams played to a 28-28 first half tie.
Zydrunas Rackauskas led the UVa-Wise (1-1) cause with 15 points and seven rebounds in the contest. Seth Gibson came off the bench to chip in 12 points while Parker Gemmell added nine tallies and three assists.
King put five players in double figures with 14 points from RuShaun Reeves to lead the way. Derek Linkous had 13 and Josh Edwards eight boards.
UVa-Wise will next host Alice Lloyd College Tuesday night for a 7:30 p.m. start
