For Second Time, Rackauskas Picked AAC Men’s Hoops Player of the Week

Wise, VA – For the second time in the 2006-07 season, the University of Virginia’s College at Wise saw forward Zydrunas Rackauskas picked as the Appalachian Athletic Conference men’s basketball Player of the Week.
The sophomore from Kaunas, Lithuania earned the award after averaging 16.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game to help the Highland Cavaliers split a pair of AAC contests. He connected on eight of 14 attempts from the field and 16 of 20 free throws attempts while having two assists, a block and one steal.
Rackauskas started the week by making 10 of 12 free throws and four of five shots for 19 points and seven rebounds in an 86-60 win over Union College. The second-year player produced a double-double of 14 tallies on four of nine shots and 12 boards.
Zydrunas was selected for the award on November 21 st for three double-doubles in the early part of this season.
The Cavs face Covenant College on the road Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m.
