King Rides Boardwork and Second Half Shooting over UVa-Wise

Bristol, Tenn. – King College grabbed almost double the UVa-Wise rebound total and shot over 53-percent in the second half to pull out the Appalachian Athletic Conference men’s hoops victory. The Tornado held the Highland Cavaliers to its lowest point total of the season in a 67-50 win.
Senior Seth Gibson produced the highest point total for the Cavs (11-14/6-7 AAC) with a trio of treys for nine points. Travis Willis added seven points and four rebounds. Leading scorer Jarred Soles managed just six points.
DeShaud Johnson led all game scorers with 16 points for King (18-7/11-2 AAC). Torrington Cox had a double-double with 13 tallies and 12 caroms. J’Air Brady contributed 11 points.
King College took a 30-21 halftime lead and was able to extend the difference and complete the 67-50 final.
The Cavs return to action at home Saturday afternoon for a 4:00 p.m. contest against the Bulldogs from Tennessee Wesleyan.
