UVa-Wise Outlast Berea for Double OT Win

Berea, Ky. -- UVa-Wise outlasted Berea College in double overtime, 102-98, late Saturday night. The Cavs won the second extra period 14-10 to pull out the hard fought victory.

The Highland Cavaliers (2-2) were paced by the three guards of Jarred Soles, Adam Hood and Eric Swords, who combined for 54 of the 102 points scored. Soles had 19 tallies while Hood and Swords chipped in 18 and 17 points. Joey Blackwell dished six assists. Bryan Sexton added 11 tallies and grabbed eight caroms.

UVa-Wise held a 41-38 advantage at the intermission before Berea even the two period total to 81-81. The squads each scored seven points before the Cavs edged the Eagles in double overtime.
