Cavs fall at Milligan

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. -- Senior Blake Mellinger scored 12 points Saturday, but it was not enough to keep UVa-Wise from falling to Appalachian Athletic Conference rival Milligan College, 66-45 at Milligan College, Tenn. While Mellinger was the only Cavalier player to reach double figures, freshmen Joey Blackwell and C.J. Crowder chipped in nine and eight points, respectively. Crowder also led the Cavaliers, now 2-11 overall and 2-5 in the AAC, with five rebounds. UVa-Wise now has more than a week off before traveling to face the University of Tennessee - Chattanooga, on Tuesday, Dec. 21.
