UVA-Wise Posts Road Win Over Alice Lloyd

Pippa Passes, KY – The second trip into Kentucky this week for the UVA-Wise women’s basketball team provided a better result. The Lady Cavs were able to post their first win of the year, 76-73, over the Alice Lloyd Lady Eagles on Thursday night.

After trailing 36-31 at intermission, UVA-Wise (1-1) built a lead by as many as 14 points in the second stanza before taking away the three-point victory, 76-73.

Rachel Helton and LaShay Collier were the high scorers with 18 points apiece. Sarah Helton had a solid all-around game with 17 tallies, nine rebounds, five assists and four steals.

UVA-Wise will have almost a week off before hosting Berea College Wednesday night for its home opener at 7:30 p.m.
