Lady Cavs buck Rams in AAC action

BLUEFIELD, Va. – Sophomore Sarah Helton (Wise, Va./J.J. Kelly High) scored 29 points for the second consecutive game, propelling UVa-Wise to a 79-60 Appalachian Athletic Conference road victory over Bluefield College Thursday night at Dome Gymnasium in Bluefield. Terri Ann Hill (St. Paul, Va./St. Paul) hit five of six shots, including all three of her three-point attempts, to score 16 points in helping the Lady Cavs snap a two-game slump. Sophomore Molly Baldwin (Richlands, Va./Richlands) had a big night on the boards, grabbing 13 rebounds while also pumping in 10 points. Sophomore Rachel Helton (Wise, Va./J.J. Kelly High) added 12 points as UVa-Wise moved to within one game of the .500 mark in the AAC at 7-8. The Lady Cavs, now 7-14 overall, finish a three-game road trip Saturday at league-rival Alice Lloyd College in Pippa Passes, Ky.
