BRISTOL, Tn. -- UVa-Wise Sarah Helton (Wise, Va./J.J. Kelly high) scored 25 and Chelsea Lee (Pound, Va./Pound High) added 19, but the UVa-Wise women’s hoops squad could not keep its season going, losing to Milligan (Tenn.) College 70-63 Wednesday night in opening round of the Appalachian Athletic Conference tournament at the King College Student Center in Bristol, Tenn. Terri Ann Hill (St. Paul, Va./St. Paul High) was the only other Lady Cavalier to reach double figures in scoring, hitting for 14 points as UVa-Wise, the conference tournament’s No. 8 seed, concluded its season with an 11-18 overall mark. UVa-Wise’s Molly Baldwin (Richlands, Va./Richlands High) led all rebounders with 10. Milligan now moves on to play No. 1 Brevard (N.C.) College Thursday.
