King sends banged-up Lady Cavs to seventh straight loss
January 15, 2005

WISE, VA -Junior center Jessica Bacon (Fall Branch, Tenn./Daniel Boone High) tallied 15 points and sophomore Terri Ann Hill (St. Paul, Va./St. Paul High) added 14 more, but the injury-depleted UVa-Wise Lady Cavs lost their seventh consecutive game Saturday in a 71-49 Appalachian Athletic Conference decision against King College.

UVa-Wise, which began the conference schedule at a hopeful 5-2, now has dropped to 5-6 in the AAC and 5-12 overall.

The Cavaliers played with only seven players and without starting point guard Chelsea Lee (Pound, Va./Pound High), who broke her shooting hand a week ago, and sans starter Rachel Helton (Wise, Va./J.J.  Wise), who left Tuesday night’s game against Virginia Intermont College with an injury.

Helton could be back in action in the coming week. UVa-Wise next plays Tuesday at home against Montreat (N.C.) College, the conference’s last place team. Tipoff is at 5:30 p.m. in Greear Gymnasium.
