Cavs Men Win Tusculum Invite Cross Country Meet

Greeneville, TN -- The UVA-Wise men's cross country team had an outstanding morning as they claimed
first place in the three team Tusculum Invitational field. The victory was the first by a UVA-Wise
cross country squad over the past few years.
The Cavs edged past Hiwassee College 27 to 29 while Tusculum did not score with only four runners. The
Tusculum women won their race while UVA-Wise did not score with three runners.
UVA-Wise had five runners in the top 10. Sean Stiltner was 4th (29:12.2) as the top Cav for the 8k race.
Freshman Stephen Gregory was right behind Stiltner in 5th (29:38.8) while Derek Bunch, Seth Collins and
Britten Olinger rounded out the top 10 placers in 7th (30:33.8), 9th (31:53.3) and 10th (32:43.6). Four
other runners completed the UVA-Wise field with Jared Taylor (12th - 33:17.9), Austin Taylor (14th -
34:52.3), Bradley Sharpe (15th - 34:53.1) and Samuel Sarfo (16th - 37:24.7).
Janice King led the trio of UVA-Wise women on the day. King was fourth (22:50.3) while Maureen Seibold
followed in 5th (23:46.3). Bridge Bevins completed the three particpants in 9th (26:58.3).
The Cavs will next run at the Roanoke College Invitational next Saturday, September 23rd.
