Cavs Cross Country Picked 7th in Both AAC Polls

Wise, VA – The start of a new collegiate cross country season begins September 1st and The University of Virginia’s College at Wise has great optimism for its 2006 teams. The Highland Cavaliers were selected seventh for both Appalachian Athletic Conference cross country preseason polls.
Second-year head coach Jason Lewkowicz is confident the teams will improve upon their 2005 performance and move up the conference ranks. The men placed eighth in the AAC and 10th in the NAIA Region XII while the Lady Cavs did not field a full team.
The men have seniors Sean Stiltner and Seth Collins to lead a talented group of incoming freshmen. On the women’s side, sophomore Janice King will pace the squad along with juniors Brittney Mullins and Laura Guagliardo.
UVa-Wise opens its season on September 1st at Appalachian State.
