STALLARD FIELD MILESTONES
The UVa-Wise baseball team opened the gates to its newly-renovated ballpark, Stallard Field, on February 20, 2004 with a doubleheader against Bluefield College. Many milestones were recorded during the ballparks' historic first game, not the least was a grand slam by a UVa-Wise slugger. John Whitt (Bluefield College) struck out Steve Proctor (UVa-Wise), the lead-off hitter in game one.
FIRST HIT
Josh Duffy (UVa-Wise) recorded the first hit at Stallard Field with a a single in the bottom of the first inning. Duffy was the second batter in the inning.
FIRST STOLEN BASE
Josh Duffy (UVa-Wise) stole second base in the first inning with two outs on the Cavaliers.
FIRST WALK
Will Childress (UVa-Wise) was walked by John Whitt (Bluefield College) in the bottom of the first inning

Courtney Nowlin threw a called strike to Bluefield's Blake Williams.

Courtney Nowlin struck out Bluefield's Javier Rodreguez in the first inning.

Nathan Kiser (UVa-Wise) hit a grand slam in the third inning off of Bluefield's John Whitt in the third inning to give the Cavaliers a 5-0 lead.
