Cavs’ Morgan Touchdown Club Back of the Year, Third in Dudley Award
Three Other Cavs Made Finalists List

Richmond, Va. – For the second year in a row, the University of Virginia’s College at Wise running back Ra’Shad Morgan was selected as The Touchdown Club of Richmond Division II-III Offensive Back of the Year on Thursday night.  The senior was also third in the Dudley Award voting for Virginia’s top player in Division II/III/NAIA.

Morgan’s teammates, offensive tackle Henry Potter, defensive end Reggie Dorsainvil and linebacker Ben Robertson were finalists for The Touchdown Club’s positional Players of the Year.

The four seniors helped the Highland Cavaliers to the program’s first Mid-South East Division crown and most wins (9-2) in school history in 11 seasons.

Morgan (Chesterfield, Va./Meadowbrook) repeated as the Touchdown Club’s Offensive Back of the Year.  He captured the 2006 Dudley Award while being voted third this year.  The running back led the NAIA in scoring (17.4 points per game) while second in rushing (148.5 yards per game) and fourth in all-purpose yards (178.1).

Potter (Va. Beach, Va./Salem) was a finalist for the Offensive Lineman of the Year.  The 6-1, 309-pound All-Mid South East first team tackle anchored the offensive line which led the NAIA in scoring offense (49.5 points per game) and second in total offense (515.5 yds/gm).

Dorsainvil (Va. Beach, Va./Salem) had a solid final season at defensive end to be named a finalist for the Touchdown Club’s Defensive Lineman of the Year.  The All-Mid South East first team lineman led the Cavs in sacks (6.5) and tackles for loss (17) while second in total tackles (79).

Middle linebacker Robertson (Morehead City, N.C./West Carteret) was among the finalists for the Defensive Back of the Year.  The senior paced the defense for the second-year in a row in tackles (124).  He was also second with 12.5 tackles for loss and six sacks.
