Nick Perlozzo has been the Director of Strength and Conditioning since July of 2004. He is UVA-Wise’s first Strength Coach and creator of the Highland Cavalier strength and conditioning program in which he directs all Highland Cavalier athletes.
Coach Perlozzo’s experience includes Assistant Strength Coaching positions at East Carolina University and Florida International University in 2003, a Graduate Assistant Strength Coach position at East Carolina from May of 2001 to December of 2002, as well as an internship in the Virginia Tech Strength and Conditioning program in 2000-2001.
He was a member of the Virginia Tech baseball team from 1996 to 2000. While an undergraduate he earned Strength and Conditioning Athlete of the Year three times and was named a National Strength and Conditioning Association All-American.
Perlozzo earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Health Promotion from Virginia Tech in May of 2001 and earned a Master of Arts degree in Athletic and Physical Administration from East Carolina University in December of 2002.
Perlozzo is an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist as well as being certified by USA Weightlifting specializing in Olympic lifts.
A native of Athens, PA, Perlozzo and his wife, Heather, have a daughter, Sophia.
