Cavs top AAC foes in season opener

BIG STONE GAP, Va. -- The UVa-Wise golf team opened its 2005 spring campaign Tuesday by sliding by a couple of Appalachian Athletic Conference opponents in the rain-shortened event at Lonesome Pine Country Club in Big Stone Gap. Patrick King shot a 37 to lead the Cavaliers to victory. Three others shot 40 for the home squad. UVa-Wise totaled a 157 in nine holes. King College finished second with a 164, and Virginia Intermont College collectively shot a 168.
