Allen Commits to UVa-Wise Men’s Golf

Castlewood, Va. – Dylan Allen became the first member of the 2008-09 UVa-Wise men’s golf recruiting class committed on Wednesday morning.  Allen signed his letter of intent with the Highland Cavaliers held at the Castlewood High School library.

The incoming freshman will join the UVa-Wise team which won the Appalachian Athletic Conference “Champions of Character” award in the spring of 2007.

Allen has won the Cumberland District championship in two of the last three years (2005 & 2007).  The Blue Devil earned All-Region D status after placing third last spring before shooting well enough for sixth in the Virginia state championships.

Dylan is the son of Castlewood athletic director Tom and Sherry Allen.  He plans on majoring in either health and physical education or business management upon arriving at the Wise campus.
