Graham Takes Over UVa-Wise Golf Program
June 11, 2008

Wise, Va. – After completing a solid collegiate career in the spring, John Blake Graham will move from playing to directing the University of Virginia’s College at Wise men’s golf team starting with the 2008 fall season.
Graham finished out his collegiate golf career competing as consistently the top Highland Cavaliers golfer the past two years. The Wise, Va. native will take over for three-year head coach Leigh Clark, who stepped down to spend more time with her family.
The new UVa-Wise coach, who started his college career at NCAA Division I Morehead State University, made the 2007 All-Appalachian Athletic Conference team by taking seventh in the AAC/NAIA Region XII championship. He had another solid run with an eighth place tournament in this past spring’s 2008 AAC/NAIA Region XII.
Graham was part of the J.J. Kelly High School golf team for four years. He was co-captain for the Indians’ 2003 VHSL State Championship team.
The Cavs’ coach is currently serving as a professional instructor at the Jerrod Funk Golf Academy in Kingsport, Tenn.
