UVa-Wise Cavs Golfers Finish in Middle of Pack at Montreat

Montreat, NC – The University of Virginia’s College at Wise men’s golf team finished in the middle of the pack of in the 2005 fall opener. The Cavs completed the two-day Montreat College Invitational seventh place of the 10 team field.

UVa-Wise saw Patrick King and Eli Norris lead the team’s effort with 154 scores to tie for 14 th. Shane McDavid was next as he tied for 21 st (158). Ryan Robbins, Brad Phillips and Bryan Bentley rounded out the group in tied for 31 st (162), 34 th (164) and tied for 36 th (166) places.

Brevard College won the invitational with a team score of 607 and was followed by a tie of Milligan and Walters State Community College with tallies of 613. The Cavs wrapped up the event with a score of 626.

UVa-Wise will next at the Virginia Intermont Invitational next weekend.
