Neighbors Selects UVa-Wise for her Softball Neighborhood

Fincastle, Va. – Recently, Ginni Neighbors selected UVa-Wise as her softball neighborhood starting next fall. The James River High pitcher/utility player will bring her talents to another quality Lady Cavs incoming recruiting class.

Neighbors will join UVa-Wise head coach Tori Raby-Gentry’s club which has won 134 games, three Appalachian Athletic Conferences, two NAIA Region XII titles and two NAIA national championship appearances in the past four years.

The Fincastle, Va. product is the sixth newcomer for UVa-Wise for 2008-09. On the mound, she will give the Lady Cavs another hurler with good velocity and good movement.  Ginni is a well-rounded athlete and has played both outfield and third base. 

“We look for her to come in and continue to grow in the circle and help us add depth to other positions,” tells coach Raby-Gentry.

Neighbors’ parents joined her for her signing as well as the James River coaches and teammates. Ginni plans to major in business at the Wise campus.
