Castlewood’s Perrigan Signs to Become Next UVa-Wise Softball Player
March 19, 2008
Castlewood , Va. – Castlewood High School’s Kesha Perrigan signed recently to join the UVa-Wise softball team. The utility infielder becomes the third future Lady Cavs player to ink with the squad.
Kesha has proved to be a versatile player in her scholastic career with the Blue Devils where she has pitched as well as played first base, second base and third base. The Dante, Va. product hit .348 with 15 runs batted in and 12 stolen bases for Castlewood’s 2007 campaign.
“We look for her to continue her versatility here,” says UVa-Wise head coach Tori Raby-Gentry. “She will be a utility infielder, who has a strong arm and she works hard. She is solid on defense and offense.”
“We look for Kesha to come in and grow in the program and will be another good “fit” in our program.”
Perrigan earned All-Cumberland District second team pitcher as a freshman while being an All-Cumberland District first team and Region D honorable mention third base selection her sophomore season. A year ago, Perrigan made the all-district second team at third base.
The Lady Cavs will next host Georgetown College in a 2:00 p.m. twinbill on Friday afternoon.
