Lady Cavs’ Softball Friday Night Title Ceremony and Light Celebration

2007 NAIA Region XII & AAC Champs

Wise, Va. – On what should be a mild spring Friday evening, the UVa-Wise softball team would like to invite everyone to special hot event.  The Lady Cavs will have a double celebration of the team’s 2007 Appalachian Athletic Conference and NAIA Region XII championships and the 2008 addition of lights to Lady Cavs Field. 

UVa-Wise will entertain regional rival Pikeville College in a doubleheader starting at 5:00 p.m.  The Lady Cavs captured their fourth-straight AAC championship and second NAIA Region XII title in three years.  The 2007 team members will have a special championship ring ceremony between the night’s games. 

The fun and events of the special night start at the beginning of the evening.  For all in attendance, there will be free hot dogs and drinks to enjoy.  The UVa-Wise Bookstore will have various memorabilia for purchase on display.  The Cavalier athletic department and the Bookstore will also team up for some special prize giveaways.  The new campus group ‘Teammates 4 Life’ will hold a 50/50 drawing for all to take part in as well on the eventful night. 

UVa-Wise will also be home both days over the weekend.  The Lady Cavs will host AAC foe Tennessee Wesleyan in a 1:00 p.m. twinbill Saturday before facing Lindsey Wilson College with the same first pitch time on Sunday.
