Top Two Play Well but UVa-Wise Falls to Maryville

Maryville, TN – Henning Kuich and Derick Wood played well Sunday but the UVa-Wise men’s tennis dropped a decision at Maryville (TN) College. Kuich and Wood took the top two singles matches and the first doubles but was not enough as the Scots won 5-2.
Kuich won 8-6 and Wood took an 8-5 singles scores as UVa-Wise saw its mark drop to 2-10 on the year. The duo won 8-0 in the first doubles but the victory did not count due to the match being scored by the NCAA seven point match rule.
The Cavs will pick back up with their schedule on Monday afternoon with a non-conference home match against Milligan College starting at 3:00 p.m.
