Wasps Snatch Final Two Singles Matches to Edge Cavs

Wise, VA – Emory & Henry snatched the final two men's tennis singles matches to edge The University of Virginia's College at Wise. The Wasps came away with the tight 5-4 final score.
UVa-Wise (1-6) jumped out to a 2-1 lead after the doubles competition. After the first three singles bouts at six, two and three, the match evened out to three wins apiece. Henning Kuich put the Cavs ahead, 4-3, before the Wasps prevailed in the final two singles matchups at the four and five for the victory.
Kuich and Derick Wood were the top UVa-Wise players on the day with two victories apiece.
The Cavs will return to action with the women's team on the road at Union College for a 12:00 p.m. match Saturday before hosting Brevard College starting at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.
