UVa-Wise Men's Tennis Shows Improvement in Second Match

Wise, VA – After getting swept in its first match, the UVa-Wise men's tennis team showed improvement but fell short in the second match. The Highland Cavaliers saw Derick Wood and Daniel Robinson win singles matches in defeat, 7-2, to Maryville (TN) College.
UVa-Wise (0-2) was defeated, 9-0, in its first match against NCAA DII power Mars Hill 10 days ago. The Cavs saw Wood defeat Yumi Takebuchi at second singles, 6-1, 6-2 and Robinson outlast Reuben Liebe by 3-6, 6-2, 12-10 scores.
The men trek to Pikeville on March 19th for an afternoon match next on the docket.
