Kuich Wins No. 1, but Cavs Fall to DI Bucs

Johnson City, TN -- Henning Kuich started off his 2007 mens tennis season with a hard-fought three set victory but the Highland Cavaliers fell to the NCAA DI Bucs, 6-1, on Saturday in the Mini-Dome.
 
Kuich claimed the squads lone victory at number one singles.  He defeated Ricardo Rojas by a score of 6-4, 6-7 (6), 6-3.  The junior helped take two of the UVA-Wise (0-1) four other games when he teamed with Derick Wood at the top doubles but fell 8-2 to duo of Serrano/Olivares, 8-2, from East Tennessee State (6-1).
 
UVA-Wise will return to mens tennis action next Saturday at Mars Hill College for a 12:00 p.m. start.
